Dr. Jeremy Cheah is the founder of Straits Dental Group.

A graduate of the National University of Singapore, Dr. Cheah’s clinical interests include aesthetic dentistry and treatments such as dental implants, veneers, crowns, and orthodontics. He is also a certified Invisalign provider.

Over the years, Dr. Cheah has expanded his clinical interests to include facial aesthetic treatments, such as anti-wrinkle treatment, fillers, skin boosters, and HIFU. His interest in facial aesthetics complements his work in dentistry, with consideration given to both dental and facial features when discussing treatment options with patients.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Cheah is involved in giving back to the local community through pro bono dental treatment and charitable work.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Cheah enjoys travelling, exploring different cuisines, and discovering new places to eat. He often combines his interest in travel with experiencing local food and cultures.

Dr. Casey Chew is a graduate of the University of Dundee in Scotland. Throughout his undergraduate years, Dr. Chew’s drive for academic success led to multiple distinctions including being awarded the William MacKenzie 2nd Prize for his elective studies in Japan. Dr. Chew also developed his passion for dentistry through outreach programmes, which allowed him to treat a wide range of patients and hone his craft.

Dr. Chew is a certified Invisalign provider. He strives to build good rapport with his patients and places emphasis on providing clear information about their dental health and treatment options. He aims to support patients in making informed decisions about their oral health and care.

Work aside, Dr. Chew keeps an active lifestyle. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, badminton, ultimate frisbee, and improving his culinary skills by trying new recipes. He is currently learning Japanese.

Dr. Gareth Wong graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from King’s College, London. During his undergraduate years, he developed his clinical and interpersonal skills in major dental hospitals in London (Guy’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and St. Thomas’ Hospital).

Dr. Wong believes in building good relationships with his patients by addressing their concerns and involving them in decisions about their care. Dr. Wong is a certified Invisalign provider. He is passionate about motivating patients to develop effective oral health habits through education and care.

Outside of work, Dr. Wong is an avid powerlifter who competes in local and international competitions. In his free time, he enjoys movies, music and playing volleyball.

Dr. Smita Ashok graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, USA, and is an affiliate member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the Singapore Dental Association. She began her career teaching graduate dental students at her alma mater and subsequently practised in Philadelphia before moving to Singapore in 2009.

Dr. Smita places emphasis on understanding her patients’ concerns and helping them feel comfortable during dental visits. She provides dental care for patients of different age groups, including children and patients who may feel anxious about dental treatment.

Her clinical interests include restorative and preventive dentistry, root canal treatment, wisdom tooth surgery, dental implants, laser dentistry, paediatric dentistry, and anti-wrinkle treatment for the management of bruxism (teeth grinding). She also provides mandibular advancement devices for the management of sleep apnea and snoring. Dr. Smita regularly participates in continuing education to further develop her clinical knowledge and skills.

She has an interest in dental sleep medicine and also volunteers her time to provide dental care for children with special needs and disabilities.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Smita is a trained Indian classical dancer, enjoys painting and music, and is deeply inspired by nature, spirituality, and sustainable living. She is married to a nephrologist and is the proud mother of two teenage boys.
